The Lion of Roccapina:

Archaeological sites :
Filitosa : 10 mi distant from Propriano, the prehistoric site is considered the most important megalithic site in Corsica. The warriors still called "Filitosa" giant granite 9ft high, watches over the place, witnessed more than 8.000 years of history. Note the presence of "torre" large circular towers, made of large stone blocks weighing several tons, capable of measuring 21 feet high and whose origin could be one of the peoples of the Mediterranean Region, the warriors Shardanes.
Cauria and Palaggiu : 13 mi distant from Propriano, Tizzano in these megalithic sites are among the largest in southern Corsica.

The deep under water cliff formed by the Gulf of Valinco in the coastal frontage has an excellent reputation among divers. Its strengths are the underwater relief, even more chaotic than the rest of the west coast (in the middle of the gulf, the depth is close to 800 meters), and abundance of marine life, featuring the red coral.

The region is a starting point of two hiking trails: the Mare a Mare South and the Mare e Monti South. They go through the most picturesque villages of the island (the steps are designed from village to village).
The Mare à Mare South : From Propriano to Porto Vecchio, the great raid 5 days is a classic hiking in Corsica, where we move from the shores fragrant maquis in dense forests of the mountain. It passes through several villages that are considered as the most beautiful of the island and some of the main sites of the region : Fozzano, the Alta Rocca, the mount of Bavella, Levie, the archaeological site of Cucuruzzu among others. No particular difficulty, this hike can be taken even by children capable of providing 5 or 6 hours of daily walking.
The Mare è Monti South : This route runs between the sea and the mountains. It connects Ajaccio and Propriano. It takes place in five stages 5-6 hours on average, to a maximum altitude of 870 m. It crosses among other Bisinao, Coti-Chiavari, Porto Pollo, and Olmeto Burgo.
